Privacy Policy for Tracktopus
Tracktopus is a habit-tracking app with optional local notifications, optional ads, and optional in-app purchases. We do not operate our own tracking servers and we do not sell your data.
What We Collect
By default, Tracktopus does not collect personal information to our servers. The app’s core data (habits, progress, settings, points/achievements, avatar selection) is stored locally on your device.
Third-Party Services Used in the App
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — used to show ads. Google may collect device information (e.g., IP address, coarse location, identifiers) and ad performance metrics to provide and measure ads. Tracktopus does not receive your personal information from Google. Learn more in Google’s policies:
Google Privacy Policy | AdMob & data - Apple StoreKit — used for in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple; Tracktopus does not receive full payment details. Apple may share non-personal transaction information needed to unlock content. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple Notifications — if you enable reminders, we schedule local notifications on your device. Your reminder text/times are not sent to our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account logins
- No precise location
- No developer-run analytics or crash reporting SDKs
- No contact list, photos, or microphone data
Advertising & Choices
On iOS, you can control ad personalization and tracking permissions in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising. You may also see platform prompts to allow or deny tracking (ATT). Tracktopus honors your system choices.
Your Controls
- Reset data: Use the in-app Settings → Delete Everything to clear habits, history, and points stored on the device.
- Notifications: Turn reminders on/off in app settings, or in iOS Settings → Notifications.
- Purchases: Restoring purchases is handled by Apple using your Apple ID.
Accounts & Friends (Optional Feature)
Tracktopus includes an optional social feature that allows you to sign in with Apple and connect with friends. - **Sign in with Apple**: If you choose to sign in, Apple provides Tracktopus with a stable, anonymized identifier linked to your Apple ID. Apple may also share your chosen display name the first time you sign in. Tracktopus does not receive your email address unless you explicitly allow it. - **CloudKit (Apple iCloud)**: Friend connections, requests, and your display name are stored in Apple’s CloudKit service under your iCloud account. This data is synced securely via Apple’s servers. Tracktopus does not operate its own servers for this data. - **Local Use**: If you do not sign in, all features of the app remain available locally (habits, progress, avatars, ads, purchases, notifications). Social features such as adding friends are unavailable. You can sign out at any time in the app, which removes access to friend features. Your core habit-tracking data always remains stored locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
Tracktopus is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us and we’ll assist.
International Use
Third-party providers (e.g., Google, Apple) may process data on servers outside your country. See their policies for details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll revise the “Effective date” above and publish updates at this URL.
